Studio

Alexandre Partouche. Los Angeles.

Painter, with a formal creative background and a working method built for interiors: compose for the room first, then paint at the scale the room demands.

The work

Large-scale paintings made for specific interiors.

The Polycrafted makes paintings, murals, sculpture and custom objects for rooms that already exist. Every piece starts with a photograph of the wall and ends installed on it. Between the two sits the studio's method: a photoreal render of the proposed work in the client's own space, approved before the first brushstroke, then executed by hand.

The studio's work has been created for John Legend's former residence in collaboration with Premier Stagers, for The Harrison SF in San Francisco, and for projects with Max Jacquet Design, alongside private residences across Los Angeles, Beverly Hills and Newport Beach.

Materials

Diamond dust, and why it photographs the way it does.

Diamond dust is finely crushed glass applied by hand over the painted surface as a final layer. It catches light from every angle and changes as you move through the room, which is why it reads so well on dark grounds and in rooms with directional lighting. It is the studio's signature finish and adds 20 percent to any size.

Underneath: archival canvas, professional acrylics and oils, sealed with UV-resistant varnish so the piece holds its colour under years of Southern California light.

Originality

Original compositions. Always.

The studio works in its own language. Style, palette, gesture, texture, scale and material are all open to direction. What the studio does not do is reproduce or reinterpret the compositions of named artists, or paint identifiable celebrity likenesses. Every commission is warranted as an original work, in writing, which protects the client and the designer who specified it.
